Where It's Located
Just West off of Highway 215 and Charleston Blvd about 10 minutes down the road just before Red Rock Canyon Nation Park you will find the entrance to the Calico Trails.
The entrance is marked clearly and once you’ve entered you will find two large parking lots. I do recommend arriving early when hiking here because parking can fill quickly and it can get hot fast in the late morning.
Fee's & Passes
This is what makes this one of the best hiking spots in Las Vegas. There is no entrance fee to get in here. Just be sure to look for the Calico Basin entrance and not the Red Rock Canyon entrance. You won’t find a gate when entering at Calico.
Hikes & Trails
Some of the coolest trails and hiking you will find this close to Las Vegas are at Calico Basin.
The Mountain & Rock Formations in the Red Rock National Park Area date back more than 500 million years.
*Important Hiking Note: ALWAYS bring water when hiking! Especially in Las Vegas. Also, be sure to keep a sweatshirt packed in your bag, it can get cold quickly when the sun starts to set. And be sure to tell someone where and what trails you intend to hike. You won’t have cell phone service out here.
